Another good thing about havin a pump in the boat

Post by Louie »

when it freezes up before the first rapid, you can blame your swims on the fact that your pump wasn't workin. Bein a mechincal device you will have tools with you so you can get out your pliers and work the switch back and forth till it works. Alex fixed it after his first swim but then the ice floatin the bottom of his boat keep clogin up the pump. I don't know if he took out because of that or the fact he lost his paddle. Might have been the pump because he walked back up stream while I went down stream and got his paddle. Jarred knee was kinda nice solo with all the ice and snow and now havin too worry about some yahoo runnin into me. Nice of Dick, Doopey, Pinchelocogrino, and OC1King to run shuttle and take pictures of me and Swimmin Mexican. Regular winter wonder land out therre today.

For me; boating brings me closer to to something divine, and in a open canoe I'm 8 Inches closer.

Pretty pictures, but ice is for tea. Sure am glad I live down South & don't have to contend with such conditions. I played in the Cquirt boat today.

Louie you training for coming paddling up here? Good news we have water in June and July. But still wear drysuits. Looks like you have snow there but it does look like t-shirt weather to me
Like when it warms up from -50C to -20C or even -10C- becomes short and tshirts

when it gets cold here we put away our canoes and get out our dogsled

Nice pix! Looks like a fun day out!

Oh and Louie you are correct...
....YANKEES DON'T PADDLE IN THE WINTER BECAUSE IT IS TOO COLD
Unfortunately we can't get our boats out around here since the rivers are just about frozen solid! HOwever the drops on the small runs are nice to climb (as in ice climbing)! Skiings not bad either!

Just say'n any case of "hydro fever" is a good excuse to get out IMHO!!!!

Hope things warm up for you in time for ALF!
