i've seen lots of paddlers whose reaction to aquatic adversity is to do a fainting goat by stopping paddling and tipping right over...

Let me get this straight...
The fainting goat is just a poorly executed low brace?
My preference would be either do a snappy low brace or roll, Louie ends up 50 yards off line!

Actually, the fainting goat is not a poorly executed low brace. It is actually the sweep of the upper body to the offside at the end of a roll or hail mary low brace. Named because I have a tendency to be dense and fainting goat helps more than sweep for some reason.
