What's your favorite micro brew?

it all depends on several differnt things. here are a few of my favorite beers for different times.

after boating in the summer - fat tire ale
after boating in the winter - ufo hefiwizen
sitting around the fire - saranac black and tan
while out fitting - mississippi mud black and tan
after running a big waterfall - full sail ale
watching stars while sitting in a hot spring on the payettes - moose drool brown ale
just about anytime - guiness
for those cold winter nights watching boating videos - saint peters ale
when in canada - la fin du monde ("the end of the world" in french)
when im broke - 40oz miller high life

this is by no means a complete list, and this will change often... probably tomarrow. mmmmmmmmmmm................bbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr.............. gotta run ---- joey

Well, for one pretty much every type brewed by Unibroue in Chambly Quebec ( just ask my paddling buddies, at this years Gatineau festival we drove 30 miles to fihd a convenienc store, or depanneur as they are called there, to find a 6-pack of their brew),
as "Fin du Monde", "Eau Benite", "Maudite", "Trois Pistoles" and so on.

The "Wellington County ale" as well as the "Iron Duke" ale are excellent brews, too.

And there are tons of others out there that are worth it!

I am currently in Utah, and just discovered my favorite brew:
"Polygamy Porter"

their slogan is: "You can't just have one"

A favorite? So many to choose from. I'd have say"Monster Ale" by the Brookyln Brewing Co. or "Old Horizontal" by the Victory Brewing Co. Both are barleywines, very tasty, yum yum! Or Bigfoot Stout by Sierra Nevada would be an excellent choice also.

Highland Brewing's Gaelic Ale is very nice. Fat Tire is very good, but can't get it around here. We had a few others in the region that seemed to have disappeared.

My favorites are still imports - anything by Samuel Smiths (Nutbrown Ale is the best), Mackeson Triple Stout, and Old Peculier top my list... Murphy's Irish Stout and Boddington's ain't bad neither. Can't overlook a Corona with a lime in the summer or Dos Equis XXX either...

Anything porter does me nicely. Doesn't matter if it's winter, summer, running class5, paddling flatwater, taking a weekend canoeing trip, dropping off of waterfalls, or falling down drunk. Porter is just fine with me.

The one porter I set above many is Richmond's locally brewed Legend's by the micro brewery of the same name. They have pilsner, lager, dark, IPA, and their seasonal selection. Anytime any of you are in town, it is worth stopping by for a libation--or 2

!

Other porters that I have enjoyed are: Blue Ridge, Adirondacks (how you like that, "Sir" Adam?

), and many others that I cannot recall right now (they were that good, really!). Alden, that polygamy porter sounds like my kind of brew.
