riot air 55

Post by tim marks »

Hi All,
Has anyone C1 an Air 55. The cockpit looks narrow at the front and could be a problem? ( I am 6-4 and 205lbs) I am going to try and move along and try and keep new school in sight.

I haven`t tried an air 55 as C1, but I did outfit a disco, tekno and dom 41. The riot cockpit size can be a real problem for some paddlers, quite tight on the legs to get far enough forward.

The only negative review I heard about the air series from kayakers was the really short stern, which could cause more problems as a C1. If you really like the boat, or it is super cheap I would say go for it. If you have some flexibility in choice however, I`d check out the liquid logic boats, which make great C1s, or the newer dagger spud boats, which are earning the same reputation (and necky and...)
