Sean,
I don't know where you live, but if you are from Ontario check with Northern Lights in Barrie, last time i was there they had some in their store.

prototype
I have seen a liquid logic prototype c-1 pedistal. I think they are still working on the design. The backrest is too tall and stiff right now. If you contact Liquid Logic, ask for Woody. He might sell you somthing. We are looking at using one for a Hoss conversion this Spring.
My son took the rale that comes in the kayaks and put foam in the center and built his own pedistal using a bulkhead system. My favorite thing about his foam pedistal is that it is extremily light weight.
Regards,
Chuck/Tennessee

The LL saddle that I saw last spring looked quite a bit different than the one in your picture. The one I saw also had a high backrest, but it was also very deep (the backrest part). It looked to me that if a person wanted their seat far back in the cockpit, that part of the back rest would need to be cut away. I didn't get pictures or anything though.

My son's first impression of the LL pedistal was that it was ridgid to be that tall. After using it he liked it more and if we can get it modified he will probably try to use it.
THe pictures above are representative of that pedital we saw in the Hoss.
Again, Woody at LL is very paddler friendly and he uses an Outfitterer in Ohio to do some conversions. The boat he made for us came without holes or kayak outfitting. There are some good options besides the dagger product. Also, if you can find an old cascade or quake, they came with the dagger pedistal. SOmetimes these are available cheap since the cascade had a flaw in the cockpit rim. IF you can find one the minicell foam can also be salvaged to complete the bulkhead, etc.
