How did the ocoee downriver race go?
I hated that I had to miss the race and Esprit/Lost Tribe run. How many canoes entered the race and who won?
6 or 7 Canoes
I don't know but would be suprised if Phil didn't win. He was both smoother and faster from the ramp to out of sight than any other boat.

1st Place, Phil foti. 36 minutes. boat: 15 foot unknown.
2nd place, Art Fowler, ?? minutes boat: Dagger Ocoee
2nd to last, Alex Vargas 46 minutes. boat Mokawk Vipper 11
There were 7 openboats racing. From middle put-in to h3ll hole. It was great. On the second lap I caught up with the rest of the canoe armada, and had an even greater time doing a leisure run, and enjoying eddys
Oh, there was an after party with great beer variety. I lingered around a good fire, with good friends, till all three kegs where afloat
Oh, there were some 60 kayakers racing as well but I didn't keep up with their results.

way to go Sally...
That would be a third place (out of six), without my boat. Hopefully next year we can get enough folks to enter long-boat's, so that we can split-it up into classes. Believe there are a few not being used?
BTW - I'd like offer thanks to Chad Lewis for running C1 in the K1 class.... think he had a 34:something.

The ruling on pumps. Everyone had pumps, except for phil.
But even with a pump, you gotta stop and dump sometimes.

PUMPS
Alex,
I'll blame my finish on no pump. Somewhere in there it occurred to me "a pump would help". It was fun and I had planned to run a second half lap but decided against when I considered there was a keg at the campground.
