Anyone get their hands on one yet?
I saw one in person last weekend, and liked the looks of it. But looks can be deceptive.
unless i hear something here that changes my mind, I'll be owning one in a week.
stoked but scared too.
it's a lot of money for something that may suck as a c1.
Larry; I've been looking at it for six months and haven't taken the plunge. Anxious. Glad you might be the probe. Just did a Karnali and seems OK so far. Still dialing in the outfitting.
I have been in both the karnali and the pure as k1's and there isn't any comparison. I ended up purchasing the L Pure and can only think of one issue that some folks might have. Due to the bomber plastic the boat is a little heavy. It has forgiving yet responsive edges, the bow is very bouyant while surfing or going through waves or holes, it has great primary and secondary stability and yet it is one of the easiest creek boats I have ever rolled. It also turns quickly, auto boofs and catches micro eddies with ease. I believe that it will make a fantastic C1. By the way I am 190 lbs. and always carried a full compliment of safety gear in the boat. I think you are going to love your new boat.
Actually no. It is for sale because I have made the commitment to OC1. I have 2 striders, a New Wave Ride, a Molan (M), a Pure (L), a Blackfly, a Bell Outraged, and a Cetus LV. I am planning on getting a Viper 11 and need to sell some of the other toys to finance it.
Tommy recommended it to me as a quick river runner that can do mild creeking as well. After demoeing it I am convinced he is correct. Looking forward to seeing your conversion at ALF.
Sorry. Got off topic. I was talking about the Viper 11 being a good fit for me right now and the Gnarlz let me demo his. Also commenting that it will be interesting to see your C1 conversion of the Pure.
I paddled one this past summer as a k1 on class 4..In my opinion it is a turd..If you are familiar with prior Prijon boats, you can expect typical performance from Prijon. We all know the plastic is unbeatable..but there design is always just off.
