I am having an older version of these right now:

They are the more flexible sole I found that is still possible to wear in my C1 and OKish to walk with. They suck on hard terrain though.
Also wondering about these fivefingers maybe will try them sometimes...

Watch out; that river has rocks on the bottom.

These look similar to other booties I bought from MEC, and IF SO, I like them, but they are wider in profile than the ones I mentioned (earlier post), and the sole makes a hook overlapping up the back of the heel.
They may not be the same -- mine have size zips, not straps.
I found them fine for OC, but too big for C-1.

I picked up a pair of Level 6 Creek Boot's for my C1's last year. They work really well, offering a tight heal, flexibility and a sturdy enough sole to survive that class 5 hike. I used to wear the NRS work boots in my OC1 but now I just use these for those boats as well. I would highly recommend them. http://www.levelsix.com/store/index.php ... -shoe.html

I'm thinking about these too, but they cost $75-$100+. There is the "cheaper" model that barely covers your foot, much like a toe sock (the classic model), but the more expensive ones have the mesh that cover up toward your ankle and have the better wet traction outsole. The velcro strap over the foot would have to go, though.marclamenace wrote:Also wondering about these fivefingers maybe will try them sometimes...

I use NRS Desperado socks in mosy boats. They fit in most boats.
I also had for a few years a pair of PEAK UK neoprene socks. I found their sole coating much grippier and abrasion resistant than the typical kevlar soles that are on some booties, as they lasted me 2 full seasons. And they are low profile enough to even fit in a squirt boat.
TGG!

i use the NRS Paddle Wetshoe to wear with my winter setup (drysuit with goretex socks). these fit in the boat pretty well but occasional the sole will catch on the outfitting when I'm getting up out of the boat, never feels like it's stuck though in there though. These shoes/socks combo works for even the coldest winter boating here and for long hikes to the put-in. In the summer I use NRS kickers, and cut the top strap off of them so they aren't in the way when your foot is inverted. Both are relatively cheap and last for years.
