I received a pleasant e-mail response from Esquif yesterday, indicating that there was no issue with adding a sheet of plastic to the inside of the hull as long as I didn't screw it on. I decided not to round the saddle corners, so I didn't ask Esquif about that.
Still, if anyone else is thinking of doing anything. It's probably best to ask Esquif directly rather than relying on this thread. I would be surprised if they weren't treating warranty issues on a case by case basis.
