Necky Mission as C-1-First posting ever C Forum!
I have a Necky Mission that I would like to convert to a C-1.
Me, 180- pounds, 5'9, short legs. Needs: would like to river run, surf, spin, maybe get vertical. Previous experience in solo canoe, with roll, playboat kayaks and slalom kayaks and slalom C-1.
Has anyone done the conversion to a C-1 with the Mission and if so what is your experience.

conversion of Necky Mission to C-1
Hi Craig,
The Necky Mission is a river running playboat kayak, 7''2 long, 26 inches wide, plenty of rocker, 57 gallons of volume and fast for it's lenght. It's very forgiving as a kayak. I have only run one river with it, class 2-3, Petite Nation river in Québec. It surfs real well and spins on a dime. It hasn't been converted yet, it's still in mid conversion, gutted but not outfitted. It's like the Necky Chronic but with more volume. I have to swithch to C-1 because kayaking is killing my back, litteraly. But when I C-1; except for my legs falling asleep every 20 minutes, my back is fine even after 2 or 3 hours. I'm still a beginner at C-1, but it's a lot of fun. I don't have the same confidence as with kayaking but I want to keep paddling and C-1 is the way to go for me. Hope this gives you some information.
See you on the water,
Paul
