goPro Hero2 testing

Post by FullGnarlzOC »

did a local class II-III run today - was the first day I used my new goPro.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6A48iOn ... e=youtu.be" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Should I angle it a little more toward the sky? I was also trying to look at my strokes whenever I made lateral moves - to try and capture the blade, and how it was angled and all that.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Yo, McGnarlz.....

Stop running that class 2-3 crap for a bit and do some real paddling.

Meet us at LBS takeout tomorrow at 11:30am.

Head mounts are kinda hit and miss, aim to high and you miss the nuances of the paddle strokes being thrown, too low and your staring at a bellybutton. Your angle is pretty good. I'd suggest a rear high mount to capture all the action.

You get extra points for suckering the kayaker into that eddy and using him as a blind probe in that slot. Well done. :)

Gotta agree with Smurf, putting the paddler in the frame doesn't flatten the image as much and gives it more perspective. I love the dual cameras on each end, one facing forward the other towards the stern. Like the ad with Ben Brown and Skrillex.

And dam Tommy, did that Option come standard with boat control? Nice lines

Seems your paddle is too much in the forefront, I'd take the multicolored tape off of it.... or at least all that in the middle of the shaft.

and can you make it look more like ====> this
    ^~^~^ different strokes ~ for different folks ^~^~^

    The picture clarity coming from 'the deuce' is a major step forward.

    Here's some more OC helmet stuff from the great white north...

    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=UU ... ature=plcp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    http://vimeo.com/user3184245/videos" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    POV stuff works really well and I feel gives a better perspective if you can have a paddler in front of you... or if you turn the camera around and there's someone following behind you. I like the bow and stern cam mixes as well. It's all about the edit right? :wink:

    Nice candy cane btw... very festive. :lol:

    I wonder how Tommy's swims'll on the LBS today will come out on GoPro. Do u think he'll post?

    If he hadn't a string attached to it goin over Wonder Falls where he penciled, the camera would be one with the fishes.
