Paddled C1 for the first time this year!

Post by C1Dub »

I finally got out in the C1 at the Dog Days Slalom (Bellefonte,PA) this weekend. :D Since I was the only C1W there, I just worked on making all the gates with a clean line instead of worrying about speed.
My practice didn't go all that well on Saturday as the water was higher than usual course levels. I thought I was going to bag the class and just race kayak as I didn't have the strength in my shoulder to make the gates correctly. But by Sunday morning the water dropped significantly and after my kayak runs, which went well I decided to take one race run in C1 since the shoulder didn't feel to sore. It went much better than expected with a clean run! One little bobble and a bit on the slow side, but it felt good to get back in the boat. I love how a C1 turns!

So now I think I can start doing some easy runs in the C1 as long as I don't try to play to hard. Not planning on rolling any time soon.

Happy paddling,

Good news then... 8) I was thinking how things went for you last night.
As of today there is a plan afoot to paddle the LY or Slip this Sunday with Larry and Mark. Let me know your interest (K or C)!

Paddling Sunday

Post by C1Dub »

I'm in for paddling on Sunday. Depending on what you actually decide to run and water level will determine what boat I bring.

Happy to be paddling,
