We will be holding our 3rd anual canoe & kayak race this year on September 22, 2012 in Holtwood PA. This is our third year, last year we had over 80 participants and we would like to see this event continue to grow. I know this is mostly a white water page but didn't know if any of you also show interest in doing some flat water racing.
The race is held on Muddy Run Lake and is broken out into two different courses depending on which division you enter. Rec style canoe & kayaks do one lap of the lake (aprox. 3 miles), racing style canoe and kayaks do two laps (aprox 5.5 miles). It is a competative but fun event with awards for 1st - 3rd in all divisions. We have alot of divisions for all types of canoes and kayaks. Also a short 1.5 mile course for anyone who wants to enter with a child under 15 years of age and doesn't want to do one full lap.
All proceeds from the race benefit the Humane League of Lancaster County. If you want any more information please send me an email (wkoenig@lccg.biz). I can also mail you an entry form. Must enter before Sept. 8th for a free T-Shirt. Entry Fee is $15 per person.
