I had a wood shaft/carbon blade for a while. One word of warning, if you are going to be doing any serious creeking, I'd look elsewhere. My mitchell's lasted me about 3 months each, before becoming completely destroyed. If you're just playboating or will be in deep water, they're really nice sticks, but when the flow gets low, you'll want something tougher. I wish I knew what that was...
