I alpine, but ride with many Tele skiers. Funny thing though, when backcountry skiing, seems as though I am usually first to the top and bottom--Whats the allure of Tele? I als ride with some knuckle draggers as well. Seriously though why do people harsh on others because they do something different, I know there are some of you out there . Just on a side note, I also kayak--HAH

Where is the all of the above?
Started X-country, then on to snowboarding, then a little alpine. Back to Snowboarding for several seasons. Then messed about with Tele for a year. Back to Snowboarding. Eventually will get back to X-C/Tele for some back country trips. But as Mike well knows our precipitation tends to stay in the liquid state here in NC. So that will have to wait till a trip up north. Heck, i've even been known to slide down the hill on a piece of cardboard. So, much like my choice in boats, I'm not too particular.

As a few of you know I Tele...but that isn't my main winter passion. XC is.... I've taught XC skiing longer than I've C1'd (OC longer), and these days attempt to keep up 20km or so of ski trails, along with the help of anyone who offers. For a while I had an "assistant groomer", but he's off towards college now, so it's back to just me and my old Ski Doo Alpines.
And yes, I am primarily a skate-skier (freestyle).
And yes, I DO get as much enjoyment out of keeping the trails up, and creating trails, as skiing them (good thing too, as I spend a lot of time on the trails, and less time skiing them!)
