rain rain rain, how will the rivers behave? does anybody know a little about the paddleable waters there and how it will turn (churn?) out to be given the forecast holds true.. I'm primarily interested in rivers class II to easy III depending on their characteristics, so if anybody has more info towards whats gonna be possible and what not, let us know.

Otherwise, 'til thursday (or wed. night.. )

;D

I'm in the same section, certainly with the prelude I take out for a first time!

There are rivers in the area, maybe a little longer drive. But Lech doesn't seem to be too far, Scuol slucht is also nice, Sanna after pianz is also very nice, ... .
Imster is even below medium water at the moment, but I'll pass for Imster anyhow since I'm first-time-out with the prelude. I don't feel like balance-fighting on the imster or anything that big voluminous.

Ok I checked out Kajak.at now and since our time is precious to date we decided that it does only make sense for us to paddle the following stretches of Lech, Inn and maybe Leutasch.

Lech
12 km Steeg - Bach I-II
10 km Bach-Häselgehr I-II
10 km Häselgehr - Stanzach I-III

Inn
30!!km Innsbruck-Schwaz I-II (mostly flatwater??)

Leutasch
14 km Lower Leutasch I-II (not the canyon)

Given the poor weather forecast and other tasks on our to-do
list we hope some people will if not commit, maybe show interest in doing these easier paddles as well, so that we can be sure to actually get our boats in the water..

Feedback appreciated!

hope you all had a good drive home or to your next whitewater destinations

thank you all very much for coming!
it was - if you ask me - a great event with nice people, great rivers, BIG beerbottles, waves big enough to make tandem canoes disappear and way too short time as always. A bit chaotic but we had nobody lost, we even found our star-guest from Canada just in time to get everyone outfittet and on the river. Very rainy, but hey, it was just liquid sunshine, wasn't it?
Fortunately, James brought a big tent for us all to fit in and party as hard as we paddle - tough not all people on this campingsite had the same sense of humour as we have, but not everyone can be as cool and fancy as we Cboaters are
I had met old friends and new friends and even made unexpectedly deep friendship with some open canoe - I'm afraid I need to get one the sooner or later (where do I store all these boats, help!)

I will post pictures soon

destination for the next ECBA 2011 is already choosen: Wildalpen somewhere in Austria at the banks of the Salza - big choice of rivers again......

date is to be fixed (haven't had the time to look in next year's calendar yet), but I'll take care of everything in time, don't worry

Hej friends of the wet & open,

thanks for organizing again and although it was short it was really enjoyable (minus our close call burning that propane cylinder inside our van..) and great paddling too! Looking forward to next years Armada, we will actually try to get some more Canadian friends to come over.. to show you guys some proper full-flow C over C rescues ;D

Sabrina, we will come visit you in Augsburg for sure! And James, you're not safe either ;D

Stay dry,

I should come to Augsburg once too, but for such a long drive there are many many interesting rivers in the area... .

Anyway, I had great fun at the armada once again. The days were a bit long - late of the river, but hey, no stress.

Hope to see you all next year!
