Normal weekend paddling may not be enough to keep one's knees accustomed to seats as low as we would otherwise like. When I was still paddling my slalom boat, with its 5.5" seat, I made up a foam kneeling seat so I could watch TV while my knees grew accustomed to the abuse.
Now I'm paddling my Millbrook with a 9.5" seat height. My knees can still feel grateful for time out of the boat now and then.
