I have emailed out the preliminary email for the ALF 2012 contact list.

If you did not get the email it is because your not on it (or changed your email address).

ALF 2012 will be from 10-Mar-2012 to 18-Mar-2012.

If you want to be on it then email me:

ALFContactList <AT> gmail <dot> com with the following information:

Full Name:
Cboats or WRWW name:
Cell Number:
Email Address:
Emergency contact name and number in case large steaming pile of dog doo happens:
Where your staying ... this makes it easier for people to plan stuff:
What days your coming 10th thru 18th March:
Number in your party ... i.e if you and spouse are paddling then it would be 2:

I will send out the complete contact list to ONLY those that get back to me about letting me know they are coming to ALF 2012.

This list will go out starting early February in order for people to make corrections to any missing information.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The following disclaimer will be on this years contact list to avoid any potential hassles:

“This list is not to be used for any third party mailing lists.

It is only to be used by the persons that are on the list.”

Seriously debating ALF vs Mexico time and money!!! I know both would be a blast. ALF may be more doable this year.

I'm booked at the Sweetwater KOA again this year. I'll be boating Saturday through Wednesday, and hopefully will be back the last Saturday / Sunday.

Bill,

The King's Inn in Lenoir City is a motel just across the road from the Shoney's where alot of people meet in the morning to figure out what is running and who is going where. This is a good location if you want to do the Shoney thing each morning. There are a few other motels in the area as well.

A bunch of us have also stayed at the Sweetwater KOA down the road from Lenoir City. The KOA has campsites and cabins. In the morning we either drive to Shoney's or make our own plans.

Other people may chime in here as well. I know people stayed at other places I am not aware of. Last year Alex Varga opened up his place to camping, but I have no idea if he is doing that again.

All open boats. Race Meeting at 11:00am at the put in. High Noon race start. Please change and have shuttle set when you come for the race meeting. When setting shuttle Do not park on the road not even touching the white line. You could be ticketed. Everyone try to ride with someone. We can leave vehicles at the Out Post Pavilion in Tellico Plains. This Year we are trying a few new things. Here is today schedule.

11:00 Race Meeting Put in Try to have shuttle set and be river ready.
12:00 Race Juniors class
12:05 Mortals
12.10 Super Hero
12:45 Tandem Class

Activities Move to The out Post Pavilion In Tellico Plains

2:00 Swap Meet Opens The Out Post Pavilion Check them out here.
https://www.facebook.com/Outpostpaviliontellico" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

4:00 Movie Primer John Grace will show the Canoe Movie 2.

5:00 Awards Banquet.

Race rules: OC's are the only craft eligable to enter. It is a Mass Start Race with THREE main classes.
Juniors: 20 and under
Mortals: every other none sponsored boater.
Super Hero: Sponsored boaters are all of the Bad
Asses.

Race Starts At the Normal put In. And ends at Baby Falls the first one to hit the water wins. Rubbing is racing If you have to boof them to beat them, Boof away.

The only folks who will win anything other than bragging rights are the Juniors.

Tandem Race any tandem boat will work. This is a new thing for us so if we don't have 3 boats we want race.

All race events are subject to change due to water levels. If the water is to High we will move to another river close by. (Citico) If the water is too low we can just set around and drink.

Bill - like Gord said, if you're looking to camp, the Sweetwater KOA is a pretty good choice. Typically a bunch of folks stay there. It is 19 interstate miles from the Shoney's everyone meets at. They have hot showers!

I may not be able to make the Telico race on the Sunday, but really want to paddle that river.

Any chance a group would want to paddle it a second time during the week?
