Re: Waterfall record?
Well i fixed up my article to reflect the record as 45 vs 55 ft.
this sounds like a conservative club boater line from 30 years ago talking about someone running the Upper Yough, the upper gauley or the suicide section of the Little river canyon.I'm for rating waterfalls on their level of stupidity, since mostly it's a ratio of ego divided by good judgement rather than skill...
Re: Waterfall record?
Sorry to drag you into this Creeker.
I really enjoyed your writeup from Mexico. I know that I lack the drive to want to run >25ft waterfalls but it is great that there are guys like you to show the rest of us it can be done.

I would like to say Heck F'n ya to Creeker. I have mad respect for you to have only OC for a year or so YOU ARE THE MAN. The few times I have boated with you it was a blast. And I cant wait to boat with ya in the Future. I there was an award for OC'er of the year it would be you. I know of no one else so new to the sport that has brung so many new faces with them. No one else as fresh as you is hucking as HARD as you. so for this I raise my glass. I am glad you are an ambassador of our sport.

Nice work, broseph. Some of us boat for personal challenge and, considering that you come from the world of super-gnar, you were keeping stride with your lifestyle. You're bad-arse, Wayne.

Re: Waterfall record?
Creeker gets respect from me for a few reasons:
-Very approachable and willing to share his passion for the sport with others
-Has stepped from one craft to another (same would go for someone going from C1 to OC1 or vice-versa, or even rodeo to creeking to slalom or whatever - change is good for you but a lot of us get stuck in our comfort zone of a certain type of paddling (craft or water))
-Has the skills to attempt a big drop and not get killed. Big waterfalls aren't my thing right now and probably won't be - but I can still appreciate someone else pushing themselves in a different segment of the sport we are all passionate about.
And then there's the whole video / image aspect

my comment that seemed to get his girlfriend upset was not even about creeker (sorry i didn't read the blog). it was just the first thing that popped in my head when I saw the pic link in the post above mine.. http://rattreks.com/site_pics10/kayak_elkfalls.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
whatever
