Unless you really plan on wrestling bears, or submarining down the river. I've never had a problem with the cheap 5 gallon buckets from Lowes, with the gasketed lids, either. -M-

As far as "critters figuring them out", goes . I have to fight to get the lids off. So ,unless the squirrels are on steroids, I'm betting you're ok.-M-

i sold over a dozen 60L barrels at 25$ a couple years ago to friends. they lay down perfect in the belly of a canoe.
