Maybe try double thigh straps and knee pads? This is my preferred open boat outfitting style. With the knee pads you can move your knees to wherever its comfortable. If you build up the inside or outside or both, it can give you a place to "squeeze" your knees together without sliding them off. Check out Mike Yees site for outfitting pics, theres alot of inspiration there :)
Id consider revamping your float bag cages as well. I paddle 11 ft playboats and stuff 60 inch bags in :D . If outfitted properly and without a great deal of bag pressure they eliminate any gap issues a smaller bag would have . I have found this to work well, the water is isolated to the cockpit and there is also better water deflection.

Im 6' , 200 lbs, so it might just be me too

Hi tiggy
The airbags are let down when it goes into the shed so any water can drain from them and it makes it easier for it to fit in. But when it is on the water they are blown all the way up so the outfitting wont move forward. I dont wont to put straps in it because i dont like t be fastened into the boat as i had an accident with a sprey deck which has put me off beeing attached to the boat for now. I do have knee pads pn the bottom but they are a bit thin so i was thinking of making putting more pads at the top. I havent been able to do it yet but hopefully when i can think of how i can do it.

Thanks
paddling a flooded canoe is easy. stopping is easy as long as you have some kayaks to help you stop.

I understand the idea of not liking to be attached to the boat, that's why kayaking never apealed to me too much, as you have your legs under the bow deck of the boat. BUT I have found that in an OC1 with Mike Yee double thigh straps, it is easier to exit the boat then enter it, so if they are installed right, that shouldn't be a problem. This was not in one of those small OC1s it was in a more traditional boat, a MR Outrage, with a large cocpit area, from pictures I've seen of the Skeeter it doesn't look as large, however I can't imagine that it would effect exiting very much.

I'm sorry, in my last post I said "it is easier to exit the boat then to enter it" what I meant was that it was easier to exit then stay in and roll.
