ALF 2009 - information gathering - who is going
Moderators: kenneth, sbroam, TheKrikkitWars, Mike W., Sir Adam, KNeal, PAC, adamin
We have four- maybe six coming from Kingston Ont. around the 15th. Staying at Sweetwater KOA for couple of nights, then we will move maybe in the mountains, depending on where the trips take us.
I heard that the Dinner Bell in LC was closed. Is there a designated/suggested meeting spot? We will be looking to paddle with a class 2-3+ group.

That's so true. When I was guiding and folks would tell me they were from 'Northern Virginia' I'd always say 'Oh, you mean DC.'JulieKeller.com wrote:Thanks Louie - looking forward to a few days back in the South. These people up here in Northern Virginia think they live in the South!!!! WTF - I've lived in the South and this ain't it.
alf camping
Dan Bertko here.
I'll be coming down for most of the Mar 13-22 stretch with my shuttle bunny wife Lois. We'll stay at Soaring Eagle most of that time.
Will have a white Sprinter van with a walk-on roofrack. Yellow Detonator and purple OutrageX on top.
Dan: 617-492-8756
Lois: 617-596-2270
Soaring Eagle says their wifi works near the laundry. We'll have a laptop to check in if one of you knowledgables can comment in the eve/early am on what might be running.
I may have mercy on my shuttle bunny and be looking for an occasional rest day of road biking with her. Room on the bike rack for more but I doubt it with this group...

hey
everybody, The trouble won't be findin class II-III the trouble will be findin class V, unless it rains and then almost all the V's has a lower section that is a lot easier. However even with out rain I know people will be goin to the Green and it has a easy upper section, Cheoah has a middle section that is class II-III. I think the upper Tellico is class II-III if you odn't the lower is for sure class II-III, Nolichucky French Broad, Obed, BSF. Even in the driest of year there will be something you can get on. The majorty of people who come are class II-III, it is just when there is that much support around and us locals know everthing so well a lot of people step it up a little bit and that is kinda what it is all about, and gettin people on new river for them. have I told you all about Mexico yet?
