Sound of Music, I think...
I will also respectfully disagree with Tom on CBoats driving younger folks away from open canoeing. An internet forum is not going to get anyone IN to canoeing in the first place - but we may help them move along and find others to help them and boat with. As you have noted yourself, it will be what they see on the WATER, and perhaps on YouTube or Vimeo.
You see... there is no water on the internet!
I think you owe a number of awesome "younger" open boaters an apology too - they may not boat in your area, they may not post as much as you do, but they are out there.
Regarding how this site is run, you have stated your opinion, and you are definitely entitled to it.
Please realize that as the folks who run this site, and hear from lots of folks as well as having our OWN opinions, it is up to us to shepherd the site in a direction we feel best. Right or wrong, it's where we're headed. If you wish to go out on your own, go for it. If you choose to troll, talk smack, etc... rather than contribute in a meaningful manner it would be best if you chose to post elsewhere, be that another site in operation or by all means start the FullGnarlz Maximum Open Canoe site... or whatever you want to call it.

The word filter wouldn't allow me to post a link to the song from Skid Row... and I think Julie Andrews is a total hottie in that movie so back off N00B!!!!!FullGnarlzOC wrote:PS. does anyone else find it funny that the first thing that comes to Craigs mind is a song from "The Sound of Music"

sorry. im just bitter about it cuz I was forced to watch it as a young-in.
and smurf... no that cquirt comment wasnt toward u. I was just throwing out words that I feel are boring(no offense) and over talked about on here(but prob not).
I think what would work well would be a forum more so about experiences, emotions, and personal interaction; in addition to being informative.
Let's face it, we all come here day after day - because we all share the same passion - CBoating. We come here because our wives, girlfriends, friends, and family... Just don't understand. Nor care to hear about half the crap we want to talk about. On some level, they should be thankful that Cboats exist.
Point being... When the waters low, we all come here to talk, think, and learn about Cboating. Some care to learn more than others, some care to think more than others, some care to interact more than others.
Why is it so hard to find a way to do this all at the same place?
