Ive been wondering if you could affix a Jackson Happy Feet to the bulkhead(between the foam and your thigh). This is then inflated and squished around till it fits what ever you happen to be wearing that day.

I actually do that... kind of.

I pull the corners of the front airbag back though the knee holes a bit. Once I'm in the boat, I can blow it up to get the desired fit. Also, since I don't attach the top of the saddle to the thwarts, theres a bit of 'play' in the bulkhead and also the back of the saddle. Blowing up the airbags takes the play out it, but based on more or less air in the bags, I can adjust how tightly the saddle fits. On days when I'm wearing a drysuit and lots of layers, I don't have the bags blown up as much as when I'm wearing shorts. Works pretty well for me.
