Low Brace help?

So I was out on the river this weekend in a friend's boat, and was fortunate/unfortunate enough to be filmed executing a rather healthy low brace. I was wondering if anyone could offer some friendly advice or critiques?

I think you might notice less scratches on your helmet, err, wheelhouse, if you wait a little longer before you raise your head. Wow, cool pics
