H3
by Bernie
The new Pyranha H3's look like a great c-1 conversion boat. They are deep at the cockpit area allowing for chunkier thighs.
H3 235 7'7" x 24" x 58.4 gal.
H3 245 8' x 25" x 67.1 gal. 12" deep
H3 255 8'4" x 26" x 77 gal. 14" deep
The H2 245 is 10.5" deep, 8' x 24" x 59 gal.

Looks like fun

Watch the movie of the H3 in www.theblurr.com. The boat looks pretty playful for something as big as it is. The write-up makes it sound like the cockpit has a new shape that will be more conversion friendly.

Also, Pyranha is planning on selling that really nice thigh-strap kit for the kayakers in Canada they showed at O.R. last August. They were not sure of the price though.

Thigh straps

are still on the table, as of November 2002, due to possible liability issues. The system is really sweet and is not an issue for c boaters but should only be used by expert kayakers in controlled situations. I have my fingers crossed for a future release date.
