New Zealand C-boaters

You'll find that C-boaters are an extremely endangered species in New Zealand, although there are 1 or 2. Paul Eames, who came 5th I think in the rodeo worlds in (OC I think) is based in the central north island - about 4-5 hours south of Auckland. He's based on the Rangitikei River (which has a SWEET! clas IV-V section and also some mellower stuff) and runs a rafting company and a small gear shop and cafe called "up the creek". He'll know who else down there paddles C1. Unfortunately I don't have his contact info, but if you contact Richard Sage at Bliss Stick (team@bliss-stick.com) he should be able to put you in touch. You can also try contacting Canoe and Kayak Ltd (www.canoeandkayak.co.nz), Ferg's Kayaks (www.fergskayaks.co.nz) or the Auckland Canoe Center (www.kayak.co.nz) which are three shops based in Auckland. Good luck!

NZMatt

(NB: I've only been C-boating for about 1.5 years and have never C-boated in NZ, only kayaked there on the Rangitikei once)

There is not many of us at all, PaulE is the best one to get in touch with as he knows all of us. I think this address works paule@riveradventures.net.nz If it does not work look at www.rra.co.nz thats his rafting company web site.
