Perception vs Dagger C1 console.
by Mangobait
I called Watermark today in hopes of ordering the Perception console and it sounds like it doesn't exist anymore. The guy said that there was only one console and they've been using it for both companies for
as long as he's worked there (4 years). And that this is the one in the Atom. Which inclines me to think that it is the Dagger one. (Just maybe.) A friend told me he prefers the Perception one because it doesn't spread the knees like the Dagger one.
Anybody else have any experience?
Thanks.

I'm not sure I have any good pics of the two different pedestals, if I can find some, I'll post them somewheres.

Spread knees a plus

I like the Dagger (Harmony) saddle set up. In fact I further padded the saddles in my Atom and my Redline to position my knees farther apart. In my opinion you have greater control with your knees spread.

Spread the knees

If you get a Dagger saddle, which is the Harmony, You will want to foam it out to spread your knees even more (if there is adequate room in your boat). If you paddle without doing this, you will be giving up a lot of stability. I paddled a boat (Atom) for a while (and got the snot kicked out of me) until I pushed my knees apart two inches on each side. Go for it.

I have a VERY narrow boat (my knees are straight w/virtually no spread at all) and a wider boat where my knees have a very wide spread. Either way, the outfitting I've used is TEAM etc. You can do w/it EXACTLY what you need. You have flexibility for hip wings or not, wide spread/narrow spread, and anchor points for accessories. All materials and kit cost less than any pedestal system. Time involved varies but is generally about 7 hours from empty hull to trimmed C-1.
Good luck however you go!
