bulkhead- 1 fixed piece or with removable pieces?
by Garrett
I am trying a new outfitting system for my new boat, and I thought I would try a bulkhead/lapbelt system. I enjoy my knee-block/thigh strap system, but I want a more secure position in the boat...
any suggestions on bulkhead preferences... should I make it solid and uniform like the bulkheads in the spanish fly oc-1? or have a bottom layer and a removable top layer to secure the knees down?
any suggestions, experiences, and input are welcomed... thanks....

I have done both, solid one piece and also just a top piece you just wedge in with some extra foam bits. Sure is nice to be able to access the bow space somehow to put in airbags, lunch, find your lost car keys etc, so I have not been gluing mine in the last few boats I have converted. Just make sure you wedge it tight enough that it doesn`t blow out during transport! only risk is the bulkhead moving when you are trying to get out, or your friends laughing at your outfitting which keeps falling out.
