Greetings...
How's Seth doing towards his fund-raising? I was thinking perhaps we could put a little something together from the CBoats community...any thoughts?
WELL, UUMMM......

Here's the dilemma as I see it (and it is, as I see it, a dilemma!). I'm broke. And with my arm in a sling, two of my numerous self-employment occupations (musician/paddling instructor) are unavailable to me now. But here's what I'm thinking; I'll put together a CD of 10 of my best produced songs and sell it for 8 dollars to anyone who's interested in supporting Seth and Joe Stumpfel. I'll keep 2 dollars to pay for the CD, the CD holder, and the CD mailer. Their cost is over 1 dollar and less than 2 dollars, so I will not lose any money that way . Postage on the cassette should be around $1.50, and what ever is left over (4 dollars plus) will be put into the "Seth and Joe Go to the Worlds Fund".
I have a passing acquaintance with both of these paddlers; I gave Seth a private lesson a few years ago, and he did his first ever side surfing in a hole on that day (he was in a C-1 even then, and when I asked him to show me his low brace at the put in and he put his entire body underwater in the process of demonstrating the stroke, I was pretty much hooked!). And I bought Joe’s Cascade C-1, which is still giving me much paddling pleasure, and he has been very forthcoming whenever I have contacted him since.
I'll post an "ad" once every two weeks until May 16 on this forum, Boatertalk, and the Monocacy canoe club site, and at that point we'll shut everything down.. That's not a lot of money to most people, and at least they'll be getting SOMETHING for it in exchange, along with stoking their charitable fire. I'm the wrong person to ask, of course, but it's pretty good stuff, and that’s a pretty good price, and it would be for a pretty good cause. So what do people think? And should we maybe make it $10 instead of 8 dollars, so they get even more money?
Anyway, food for thought;
Ric Taylor
Zounds good to me!

Greetings...
Or, charge 8 for the CD (I'll take one
), and if people want to donate more, they can.
What does everyone else think? Any thoughts from Seth himself?
