Ottawa questions...

So my friend and I are graduating from high school (finally) around June 8th and were thinking of heading to Ottawa for the last 3 weeks of June to do some boating. What are some good runs around besides the obvious (Ottawa duh) and any recommendations on places to camp? Will the Ottawa be running at a good level then or will it be huge? Also, does anyone know anything about the C-1 course at Liquid Skills? Is it more freestyle oriented or more of a beginner/intermediate all around course? We're looking for like class IV runs, some creeking would be cool if its around. Thanks,
Will

As for camping you could stay at one of the rafting places and then would probably give you a deal since you will be staying for a while. Like River Run. The Ottawa is always an awesome river, June and Augest, The ottawa is usaully running a little lower making for great play on the Main channel. For Bigger water the Gatineau has some seriuos stuff, as well as the Petawawa River. And i didn't even know Liquid Skills offered C1 courses,

As the Ottawa has both the main and middle channels you should be able to find tons of great playspots at any level. If the level is high and the big water on the main channel is intimidating, spend more time on the middle channel.

Kevin is right, the Gatineau is also a must do big water run, no more difficult than the Ottawa. Also you should check out the Rouge, including the class 5 seven sisters drops if that's your kind of thing. Those drops deserve respect and should be done with a strong group of paddlers.

Consider heading over to Montreal to check out some world class big water playspots, such as "big joe" in Lachine rapids (you must check this out! strong roll and follow a local down the rapid the first time), "67" down near the Casino, and others. And don't forget the great creeks in upstate NY you might be passing on your way here.

Great camping at the takeout to the Gatineau river, and they can assist with running shuttle. On the ottawa many go to river run or log and lantern campgrounds on the Ontario side. There is a hard to find but good campground on the Quebec side if you have no shuttle options.

Enjoy!

A squirtboating friend of mine and I are going to head up to Canada this weekend to check it all out. Is the Ottawa running to big? Anywhere he could satisfy his sinking desires? Thanks,
Will.
