Hi
I´m actually constructing a Squirt-C1.
Some questions about the oxygen:
Why is one side rounded and the other straight?(Which side is the paddling side?)
The rounded side has sharp edges!? Why?
It has no rocker.Why?
What about dt?
Thanks in advance

O2...

Greetings....
Sorry about the delayed reply-I was at the NB Armada-GREAT to C everyone again, and some good boating too:)

Anyway, The Oxygen is a great idea, but doesn't work that well. Here's the concept: Thicker on one side than the other-you paddle "against" the thick side (it's your off-side) with the idea being that more resistence=less corrective strokes. Therefore the boat can be paddled in either direction, depending on if you're right or left-handed. In reality, as the boats under water, it doesn't make much difference. A little, but not much.

I still haven't figured out why Corran designed it so flat. I'd guess for surfing, but it makes it VERY difficult to paddle-you have to keep your weight balanced over the center (read paddle with your arms) to keep from constantly submerging the bow.

What it does well: Cartwheel. It will cartwheel itself, as well as go verticle on the bow or stern with a simple weight shift-no paddle strokes necessary. Note this is called "unstable" by most people

I'm not sure about downtime, to be honest. IF you can get it in the right place, with some forward momentum, it *should* be great, theoretically. But it is very difficult to get it there....

Shortly (read within the next month) I hope to post some of the latest images of the Maven (the squirt C1 I've been constructing). Hopefully I'll be float testing it later this week...we'll C how it all goes!

If I can answer any more questions, or you would like me to elaborate further, just let me know!

Thanks

for your answers. I think that´ll help.
My actual Squirt-C1 is unstable too. But that´s no problem for me. Normally kayakers who try it are about 5 seconds in the boat before exit :P
Thanks again
