hello all
I was curious about how the Liquid logic skip performs as a C-1. At present I'm in a delirious, and I'm looking for something shorter and corkier (not a word).
Also, I have a question about rotomolded OC-1s
Which boat performs best for play/ riverrunning
the quake, aftershock, superfly or spanish fly??
Thanks

Hi Fraz,
The best river-running rotomolded OC1 is the Pyranha Prelude. I finally got mine in the water about 3 weeks ago and am really enjoying it. Unlike any of the other rotomolded OC1's, the Prelude has a traditional canoe shape so rides over waves where all the other boats will dig in their ends. The best OC1 rotomolded playboat has to be the CUFly - there is just nothing else like it.
If you can only get one boat, I would look for a Quake, Skeeter or Spanish Fly. The Aftershock is really too wet for river running.
Hope you find yourself a boat.

I have not spent much time in a skip C1, but some guys are winning rodeos in them, definitely a good C1. Slooow moving, on a wave, downriver, as you might expect from a spud boat, but one of the slowest boats out there. I`m 175 lbs and right in between the ideal weight for a skip or a pop C1. Consider how much you weigh carefully, the skip was pretty narrow and upstable for me, the Pop felt too big.
I have a riot tekno C1, a tight fit through the cockpit, but one of the fastest, best carving spud boats out there.

Aftershock
The Aftershock is undoubtedly very wet, & therefore has the problem of having to empty it out often (or install a pump). To date I've been impressed by its lateral stability.
It was designed to 'throw enders like crazy' according to the designer (J.Langman I think). If you run rivers, you can however wave block, and adding foam to the walls and using a Beluga saddle can help it to be less of a 'log' when full of water. As far as I know the Prelude and Skeeter have more of an Ocoee-type displacement hull and chines while the Aftershock, and Robson CU are real planing hulls.
It depends whether you prefer a faster, drier river running boat or a smaller planing and ender boat.

OC
I have a perception spin that I love, it's somewhere in between the skip and pop as far as size goes. It's an awesome boat. Mine has been slightly modified, with some volume removed from both ends. Carves like a champ, throws ends effortlessly, and is pretty corky, although not as much as my Disco. For pure hole play, I prefer the disco, but for waves, smaller holes, and general playboating, the spin kicks. If you're ever in the southeast I'd be glad to meet you at the ocoee and you could try either the disco or the spin. E-mail me at gte224i@mail.gatech.edu if you're headed this way or have more questions

KING PIN!!!
One more time.
The King Pin difinitely rips as C1. I have it from two weeks and loooove it!
The boat wheels, bounce, pop, loop and get air amazing easy.
Best steep wave/hole boat ever tried for me.
