well, I had a feeling about this guy. Bill McKnight is the new c-1 freestyle world champion! All the top c-1s paddled really well -- top C-1 scores in the quarters and semis were right there with the top kayaks -- so congrats to Luke and Barry and all the other guys who threw down in that massive hole!
OC-1s didn't score so high, but nevertheless those guys are ballsy as hades for jumping in there. Andrew Bell 2nd, Seth Chapelle 4th. Congrats, guys.
Well, now that we've examined one aspect of paddling, I'm getting excited to see who is the top slalom boater in the world -- July 24th on "Der Eiskanal" in Germany. I don't think any American C-1 will challenge the world, but I do think two American C-2s have a chance to do what hasn't happened since 1987 and the days of Jamie McEwan and Lecky Haller.
Hey, I called the freestyle world champion, so I'm going to make another prediction: Matt Taylor and Joe Jacobi will be world champions in C-2. That would be a proud day, but only time will tell!
