Sunday onna Deerfield

Just as a heads-up to anyone in the area (all... three of us?), I'm heading out to the Deerfield River this Sunday with a group of folks from work. So if you see a large group of open boats (possibly making fun of the lone yakker - dunno if he's going tandem or using his own), that's us! We'll be on the Fife Brook section, since we have relatively inexperienced people mixed in with only a couple of us (myself not included right now... I'm a touch rusty) with enough skills to handle the Dryway.

Adam, I'll try to get pics of the XL-15, Appalachian, Scouts (not that the latter two were designed specifically for whitewater, but that's what we use 'em for!) and send 'em to ya. Hopefully goin' through the Gap so's there's some excitement. Or spills. Y'know, whatever. I probably won't be bringing the Viper out, though; if I end up going solo, it'll likely be in the Encore (although....). Either way, should be a great time, and if you see us, say hello!

And speaking of the Viper, it's still looking for a good home...

And if anyone wants more info on the Viper, lookit my post on the Boats For Sale forum.

Posting this in response to Jim's email to me inquiring about it; figure there may be others who might be interested but haven't seen the original post.

I'm planning to drop by Groton on my way to Mt. Monadnock with the family tomorrow Saturday. I will give a call when I know the time of our departure in the morning.
I will try for the gap on Sunday. I don't know if I can leave in time to even do a run from the tree farm above pinball.

Jim,

I'll be at work tomorrow morning loading up for the trip, shift is scheduled to end at 2:30, so any time after that would work just dandy. You can just leave a message at the house if I'm not there and you're planning on coming, though.

What time will you be running on Sunday? Would you have room to bring the Viper?
We won't be back until after dark on Saturday so it would not be a good time to stop.

Jim! (and anyone else in the area... and Adam, since there's pictures for the site involved)

The Viper'll be there tomorrow, with me in it. The release is at 10 (scheduled for 730 CFS, to go up to 900 from 11-1), and I think our launch time'll probably be sometime between 10:30 and 11, which'll put us at the Gap around 3. Very approximate times, as it all depends on playtime and if a bunch of us need bailing early on. We'll be stopping for lunch at the campgroundy area right below Zoar (what's it called?), as well.

I hope to take many pictures, along with plenty of spare batteries for the camera (thing eats 'em up... I use rechargeables as my primary source, but carry regular AAs as backup so I don't kill them), so there may be a picture or two worthy of being posted on CBoats when Adam gets around to updating again
