how long can you all sit in your boat for without leg pain?? i havent done a long, uninterupted-by-scouting trip in a while, and im about to do one this weekend . . .
my best guess is: one and a half hours.
we'll see!

That's why I like OC1 - I'm never in my boat that long without having to get out and drain!
Depends...

At the end of the season I can usually do the Hudson gorge OK (5-6 hours 18 miles). I'm stiff when I exit, but my legs aren't asleep. AND that's in my Acrobat
.
Beginning of the season I'd have to say 30 minutes or so before I have to release the buckles and stretch in an eddy a bit (not getting out of the boat). If I actually stretched all winter like I always mean to it probably wouldn't be a real problem (of course, cross-country skiing and building up my legs doesn't exactly help either, but it is FUN).
My advice-toss a 1" piece of foam on your normal seat and don't worry about it. 1" makes a HUGE difference in what you're used to. My original Viper had an 8" "cruisin'" seat that I was comfy in alllll day.
Regardless, have fun

Wow...18 miles, I'm jealous. I can usually make it about 45 minutes to an hour, and once I get out the first time my time till the next break gets almost exponentially shorter. I think it depends how I get situated in my boat though because sometimes I can last a lot longer. Where are you going on yer trip?

Sit in your boat in the non off season it helps when it comes time to paddle.

the non off season? isn't that kind of a double negative? are you saying PADDLE MORE? I would love to get a Rx that says..."you must paddle 4-5 times a week to keep yer knees in working order." You aren't a doctor are you?
