OK... so I have my C1-Twintip almost completed. Now I need to get my first skirt. (I can't believe I'm saying that?) What are the differences pro/con on bungee vs. rand, etc. what tunnel height's are ideal. (IR will be making the skirt for me)

Thanks!,
Craig

I use mountain surf's Kayak skirts. They work great, and are dry. Bungee skirts might fit a wider range of boats, but that's the only positive. Rands are much drier. MS will make custom C1 skirts, but I find that the K skirts work fine, and are readily available. FWIW, the MS skirts were on sale for around $110 or so from the noc online not too long ago, you outta see if they are still on sale

I have been using a bungee yak skirt on my Prijon Delirious, and frankly it has been a disaster. The stupid thing comes off so easily, it will be relegated to pool duty only . It is partly because a) the bungee does not hold it on tight enough and b) the higher and slightly further forward position of the saddle compared to the yak seat in the boat puts too much stress on the skirt.
I just ordered a custom Mountain Surf kevlar rand skirt, that should solve this issue 8) .

For small skirts and slalom boats bungee Snap Dragon skirts are great.

For playing hard I must say Mountain Surf seems VERY tough to beat. I'm not sure I'd go with the "bomber" version again though...it is VERY difficult to get on (I don't think I've been able to get it on by myself yet!), even after stretching for a bit on the boat.

I'm hoping "Santa" will bring me one for the Groove for Christmas...

I used an off the rack Bomber Gear skirt when I converted my Big EZ. It worked ok. It started coming apart, so I ordered a custom Mountain Surf ($15 puts the tunnel exactly where you want it). I got the ez on. It goes on easier than the Bomber Gear & has not blown yet. It's MUCH drier than the Bomber Gear also.

ya i love my mountian surf kevlar.
Next skirt will be same but with the custom tunnel and the red top neoprene deck for extra durablity.

I have to soak my skirt (kevlar ring) in the water before i can pop it in, it's really tight fit, it'll never pop off.
