After a great weekend away I have now found water in my paddle shaft. Well at lest I can hear water in it, I think it is coming in from around the T grip. How should I get the water out and what's best to stop it getting back in? Any ideas would be great.
Thanks Wayne.

Well,

Hello;
what a wonderful location you live in! I'm jealous already! Well, it seems to me that the easiest way to find out where the water is getting into your paddle is to just pay close attention and find out where the water is draining out when you tilt the paddle. That's probably the place you need to patch. If it's coming out where the handle meets the shaft, you can duct tape around that section and then stick it underwater and see if anymore is getting in to be sure that that is the only bad area. Then if it's a resin/cloth shaft you can just lay a little piece of fiberglass tape around the joint and you should be home free. If it's not coming out, then you can just lay the paddle out in the sun for awhile and it should just melt away.
Hope this helps;

It just might work like you would check for a leak in a tire. Use soapy water to rub over the paddle as you submerge in water. Aqua Seal just might do the trick. :wink:
