Does anyone know where I can find a good video sequence that shows a C1 doing flatwater cartwheels? I can initiate it, but then I just can't figure out how to keep it going.

It's not a C1 video, but I've been using "EJ's Playboating Basics" DVD to learn how to cartwheel -- along with several pool sessions. I've been focusing my skills on performing a flatwater lean-clean, which I believe is the key to C1 cartwheel. I can now cartwheel both directions without really using my paddle. As with all C1 moves, it requires technique and balance. To ensure I'm working the technique properly, I use hand paddles for cartwheel practice. It ensures I develop / use proper technique without paddle assistance and allows me to easily roll back up once I flip over. I've now started practicing changing my cartwheel direction without stopping -- I've been successfull, but not consistent.

EJ's instruction emphasis is to always look where you're going next and keep your body perpendicular to the boat.
