Which makes the better c1 conversion? Discuss!

dam, why do I get drawn into these things? Both would suck if you are too heavy for them. I paddled a switch C1 a little and thought it was a great intermediate playboat at my weight (175lbs). I've spent more time in a session C1, which is a great higher performance boat. Cartwheels really well, loose on a wave, very fun. Not a star for river running however! Really builds your balance and skills taking it downriver in class 3 and up. The witch is too small for me and I have not seen a C1 conversion of it. Cockpit opening is likely necky small, versus LL nice and big, so that is something to consider as well.

The session is dirt cheap now. If you are looking for a high end playboat that won't excel at aireal moves all that well, but is good for general wave and hole stuff, try it out. If you want something likely a little more forgiving (unless you overload it), go for the witch.

I currently paddle a Witch (which may be for sale if yer interested). I've had it for about a year and really enjoy it. I woudln't say it is less agressive than the Session, actually, I think it's probably spankier in holes. The chines are hard so it's easy to catch an edge in holes and whatnot. If you get one, I'd highly recommend squashing the stern and adding a little more rocker. The boat cartwheels well and blunts really easily. It's suuuuper fast and loose on a wave and carves like hades. I had a Bliss Stick RAD 175 for a while but have switched back to my old witch because of the better river running capabilities of the boat. The only thing I'd warn you about with the witch is the cockpit is pretty narrow. Not Riot narrow, but definatly narrower than the Session. Where do you live? If you like long and slicy the session is an awesome boat. Awesome company, great customer serivce, great plastic, and they make well balanced easy conversions. Watch some video of barry kennon killn' it in one of those. And compared too let's say a smaller spud playboat, got a faster hull for running rivers, if your on the lighter size it will be better cause you won;t catch your ends.

I've paddled a switch for two years, and I tried the session just for a little while.
My opinion is: switch (and witch I think) is more stable and has more river runner capability, is very good on the wave (even if isn't an aerial boat) and has a looser hull than the session.
The session is more slicy and easyer for cartweels a and blunts.
