So Peter, where did you order it from and how long did you wait for delivery?
What OC-1's do you paddle?
How big are you?
How was the lake session? and please keep us posted on the run this weekend.

I got it from Anna @ Rainforest Paddlers, Inc. in Forks, WA. I picked it up from the Forward Air Terminal in Atlanta Tuesday evening. She may have one more in the shipment she just got, but I don't know. You can email her at webmaster@robsonusa.com
Boat is yellow with blue swirls, looks really good! The thing is very deep - I spent over an hour in it last night (watching TV) and had only a little numbness in my feet / ankles - much better than my old cascade!
I didn't end up taking it to the lake last night. Last Sunday on N. Chick in TN severe tendonitis reared its ugly head - right after the point of no return on a 9 mile trip with no easy way out other than downriver. Both elbows are still bothering me, so in the interest of being able to paddle it this weekend I decided to take it easy during the week.
I paddle class iv+ with some V thrown in for fun in Dagger Prophets. Love the boats, but as I'm paddling harder water I'm beating the crap out of them and just don't have the time to do all the work to keep them up. I've got 4 prophets in my garage right now, only 1 is paddleable, and it too needs work. Hoping this will hold up a little better, plus make stepping it up a little easier. Of course if I'd stop occasionally blowing lines like this:

I wouldn't have so much work to do. Gotta work on my left handed paddling I suppose. At least cross strokes should be easier now!
I'm 5'11" and around 230 or so, and the boat seems to be about the right size to me. The only flat bottom boat I've ever paddled is an ocoee, so the fink will be a bit of a learning experience for me I guess. Hopefully the elbows will hold up for a section iv run this weekend and I can give you a better impression of the boat!

Thanks for the quick response Peter. I am really curious to hear your report after some water time(hope the elbows cooperate). I am also 5'11" and got you by about 20 more lbs. Needless to say, the comfort/fit factor is really important to me. I have short legs with big thighs so the depth of the boat is important. I tried to get into a Cascade years ago and it was just to un-comfortable.
Nice pics of your swim. Looks like your pedestal swam with you. Maybe what you needed was a deck on that boat. I have paddled some 4-5 water but mostly in a "YAK". Gave up the C-1 thing when the hearns and Lugbills started designing boats for 5'9", 160lb. people. Went to a Perception Piroette(spelling?). Am still paddling the darn thing but need to get something new. These New England streams really chew up boats, so I was trying to avoid Royalex. I have been looking at OC-1's but really don't want to give up that deck. Then along came the Finkenmeister. Never bought a boat without sitting in it or paddling it, but this forum is a great substitute for seat of the pants information.
Now there are 3 of you guys with this boat so keep up the info. as you get some water time in. Thanks, Rod
