Body armour question...

Since my accident I am thinking about getting some body armour. Has anyone experience with protective jackets as intended for mountain biking or MX? What do you think about this?

Thanks!

Doesn't Shaun Baker always wear those? You see tons of pics of him wearing that kind of armor.

Kevin makes some really good stuff! In Canada :-)

Hey, you're a true 'pain boater' now!

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing some drytops at MEC with builtin body armor. It was a couple years ago, and it may have just be scraper protectors... but it might prevent tearing of the drysuit... unless you plan to wear the armour over top of your drysuit....

Hope you're doing well.

Martin,
Take a look at the Spring 2004 NRS catalog, page 9. They describe an 'NRS Anti-Gravity Shirt' which is a shirt that has built-in polyolefin-foam flotation panels. It looks fairly streamlined and is designed to fit underneath your dry-top. It give you extra floatation and extra padding. I haven't tried one. Interesting idea though - flotation and protection in an underlayer :) .
