Ace 4.7 C-1 Conversion?

Post by colleen »

Anyone ever paddled one? Am I out of my mind? I paddle an OC-1 (Rival), and also kayak, but am in the elementary stages for C-1. (I love the Ace as a kayak, but my feet don't.)

TIA,
Colleen

Colleen,

I haven't paddled one, but I know a C-boater here in Toronto who paddles an Ace (I don't know wether it is a 4.7 or 5.1) and seems to be very happy with it, so from that point of view, I don't think you are out of your mind. Coming from paddling yak's and a Rival however and looking at the Ace's specs, I think you are in for a rather steep learning curve :o .

Rapid Magazine reviewd one as a C-1 about a year ago and I think it was favorable - I bet you can find that article online. I don't know where it is, but you can start here :
