This past weekend while dragging my boat through rhododendron? (whatever it was, it was nearly impassable) bushes in order to avoid a strainer, I somehow crushed about two inches of the cockpit rim on my Descender. Know of anyone in the DC/MD/VA area who does composite boat repair?

boat repair

Sorry I don't know anyone who does it for pay.
However, part of paddling real boats is knowing how to fix them. ;-) You wouldn't want to paddle a multi-day trip, say, the Grand Canyon, without your little repair kit stowed away.

Seriously, is it just the rim itself or is the deck damaged also? If it is just the rim, it should be pretty easy to fix using foam or tubing as a little mold for the missing portion..just annoying & time-consuming to get it nice. Anyone who has bought a custom boat probably put the rim on him/herself, & should know the technique.
