Anybody out there thinking of heading up/down/over to the North Branch for the release next weekend? Not much water around here in VA so it sounds pretty inviting.

Just a thought:
Why not driving an extra hour (ok it is an hour) and paddling the Lower Yough. It's Falls weekend (as in when you can legally run the 18' water fall in town and the associated party) and it should be fun! Bring the inter pod! Paddle LY on Sat. the Bloomington on Sun. PM me for details!

Paul,
Heard you paddled C-2 with Walt last Sat. He was impressed with the out fitting. He said the seats are skewed as well as being offset. Is that true for both front and back? I have just acquired one and am paddling with my daughter who is 90 pounds lighter than I, and it seems that I am compensating a bit in my posture. Other than that I am really enjoying the tandem. I can demonstrate paddle strokes by gripping her paddle/arms and go through the motions. It is very effective.
till next

Yep! Paddled the gemini C-2 with Walt on Friday. He's a strong crew dog - made us look like we knew what we were doing! We were able to go into dougnut hole and spin, front surf and back surf. Didn't get a chance to practice our roll though - shucks!
The outfitting was there when I bought the boat and it is sweet! The seats are slightly offset along with the cockpits (higher pedestals too) making the boat a great comfortable and stable cruiser.
As for your acquirement - sure rub it in - I was hoping that boat would be around for when I raised the cash. I now have the $ and you have the boat! Oh well - it looks like a great boat! You and the daughter will love it. Maybe we'll have a C2 Armada on the NBof the P next year.
Like you stated the C2s make it great to show paddle strokes but I'm keeping the kids with a K paddle until they are old enough to figure out the C strokes! I had the boy (K1) daughter (C2) out on Friday prior to seeing Walt (and his hornet). Took them up to the base of the Falls - they were both scared (we were at a safe distance) and stoked! It was fun.
I'm hoping to hook up with Walt latter on in the season too! Maybe for some skiing as well!
Hopefully next time you are in the area we can all get together.
