Well, much to my chagrin, Vioxx, "The drug with no side-effects" is being pulled for the very fact that it has side effects. -sigh-

Any other suggestions ;-) ... maybe it's time to renew my percoset prescription 8-O

I'm glad that I read the article first because I was going to tout Celebrex as your ideal replacement (my NSAID of choice), but Shah pointed out, factually, that many over-the-counter (otc) drugs can be just as effective. Celebrex has proven to be much safer cardiovascularly than Vioxx, though I will always hesitate to promote it as safe against gastro-intestinal bleeding for 2 reasons: 1). this bleeding is a recognized side-effect RISK in ALL NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), including otc's; 2). I'm not qualified to speak as an expert in the pharmaceutical field.

Before going after the prescription stuff, definitely give the otc NSAIDs (I just LOVE throwing out all those initials :D ). Ibuprofen (Nuprin, Advil, et. al.) and Aleve (a naproxen) have been on the market for a long time. You're not out of options, yet. 8)
