Anyone know where I can get hold of foam, needed for a c1 conversion? Most of the kayak shops sell it, but at much inflated prices. Are there cheaper alternatives? Living in Europe.

THis is a good resource. If you have access to worn out boats you might consider harvesting the foam inside for your project.

Minicell is always expensive. It is the nature of the beast. Those paddling shop prices may not be as inflated as you think!

Ethafoam is reasonable alternative at a much cheaper price. Except for knee pads, it works almost as well as minicell.

Another excellent source for foam in the US is John Sweet:

But, considering the small amount of foam needed for a single conversion (less than a bun), buying locally will not be much more expensive than dealing with a US supplier. Good luck.

Here in Canada, we buy it from an industrial supplier.
It is about 125 EUR for 3 inch 32 sqft.
I think that is cheap. Buy a whole sheet and use it with other C-1
friends...

Maybe an drakkar seat system will help you with your conversion problems..
