Has anyone got any experience with Galasport C-1 blades? i just purchased a bottom line one with the aluminum tip.......seems to be real nice but i wonder aboutth elongevity of the S-glass.

what is everybodies preference on stiffness, the Galasport has much more flex than the Vikings, but is correspondingly lighter!!

Some folks out here tried the cheaper galasport paddles a couple of years ago and had consistently bad experiences. But I don't know if these are the same paddles. (the same folks all seem to like their aqua-bound paddles now)

On the other hand, I've been using a higher-end galasport paddle (the carbon/kevlar pollert) for years, and just love the thing. The alloy edge (?) seems to hold up just fine.

I have no expierience with Galasport. I did quiz the rep at Gauley Fest though. For durability he recomended the one without the metal tip. His reasoning was that it would mushroom. I see his point, but I'm very happy with the aluminum tip in my Mitchell.

I do not care fro the Aquabound blades at all, i find that even the Carbon Edge is like a wet noodle compared to a lightning, viking, or galasport......
what is it that people are not pleased about with the galasports? i bought through the guiding place i work for and the rep stood behind his stuff, i know their stuff is good from using their Polo Spike carbon/aramid in Canoe Polo pitches.....

I was a bit skeptical about the tip on my Galasport (carbon/kevlar), but it's held up well for the past 6 months. I'm quite hard on tips usually. I do a lot of attainments in shallow water and am not afraid to "pole" against rocks ocassionally. I hate fiberglass or Dynel tips - they don't stick enough for a stable push-off.
