I must admit..'tis true! Sara and I are in fact engaged. I couldn't let anyone as wonderful (and tolerant of my CBoats :o ) slip through my fingers now could I!

Thank you for the kind wishes 8)

It must have been all that kneeling in the C-1... and of course he's teleskiing now and telling everyone that he had to learn so that he could get down on one knee to propose! :D

And then once he asked how could I say no... he did good by whisking me away to ski in northern Maine and then proposing to me on the top of a mountain in a snow squall (and besides he's got an amazing collection of boats!).

Thanks for the best wishes...

Congrats, you two! Maybe you can put at "Just Married" sign on the Landrover! Where are you planning to get married?

Once again, that is great to hear!

Best wishes

Mountains in Maine...

Post by Sir Adam »

There are a few nice mountains in Maine, this one in particular has a ski resort on it (Sunday River). Or rather, it's 7 mountains.... Sara and I used to both compete in cross-country skiing, but these days she's settled into mostly downhill. I've worked part-time at cross-country ski shops for about 15 years now and recently have taken up Telemark skiing...hence the proposal on the top of Jordan Bowl (one of the 7 aforementioned mountains at Sunday River), and the ability to actually get down on one knee while still strapped to my skis 8) . We actually stayed at Sunday River Inn and Cross Country Ski center, where I worked for a bit while I was in college.

It was certainly nerve-wracking trying not to fall on the ring-box....
Keep the C!

Congratulations Adam and Sara - funny image of the possibility of a telemarker dusting himself off and searching through the fluff for the lost ring!

Speaking of telemark, I find there's a fair bit of overlap between open boaters and tele skiers - how's this for a bumper sticker:

Free your heel, Open your boat
