Outfitting Question

Post by Matt Johnson »

When outfitting a boat, before gluing in all of the stuff, what si the best way to keep the stuff inside of teh boat? I am thinking duct tape but if anybody has other suggestions I would be pretty open minded

duct tape works, but it falls out really easy. How do you mean before gluing, like to get trim? If it is just for a flatwater float and you are trying to get your saddle in the right place, duct tape, or heavy duty velcro will work. I wouldn't paddle any whitewater with all your outfitting duct taped in though. Usually I just put the saddle in in flatwater and move it around till I get my trim right and then mark it with a sharpie or something, then glue that in, then sit in the boat and glue everything else accordingly...

I've used adhesive-backed velcro with some success
